Mannis Branch Falls Throw Pillow

Mannis Branch Falls is located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park along little river road between Elkmont and The Sinks. You won't see this view from the road. It took a little climbing to get to this point. Most of this waterfall is hidden by trees when viewed from the river. The cascades at the bottom can't be seen at all from that point. After an extremely dry season giving me the ability to cross the Little Pigeon River, I was able to get to this vantage point as well as all the way up to the main fall seen in the back.I learned of the falls in someone else' book so I'm not taking any credit for stumbling across it, but since I've seen it, I've wanted to get a closer look. The river is strong and deep at this point, but was quite rewarding after finding that there are very few (if any) photos of Mannis Branch Falls like this.Taken with a Canon Rebel XSi
