Description
No matter how much one tries to describe Watkins Glen State Park on the southern tip of Seneca Lake in New York state, the beauty, serenity, mystery, and just plain awe, can not be described. When I was hiking the mile and a half trail, it was a Sunday night. There had been quite a bit of rain in the area over the previous few days. In some places, I was in awe from the beauty. In other places, with no other people in sight, it was slightly eerie with a thick mist surrounding me as the sun had set. The darkness began to fall quickly. As I reached this specific waterfall, it was stunning. The power of the water, and being able to walk behind the waterfall, which I had never done before was awesome. There are spiral stairs up to the point I was standing and set up my tripod...and this was just the very beginning of the trail.
