Abrams Falls Fleece Blanket

We've been to the trailhead of Abrams Falls several times in the past to shoot photographs of Abrams Creek, but had never completed the hike to the popular Abrams Falls. On this specific day, we were prepared with water, perfectly adjusted photography backpack and good hiking shoes. About half way through the hike, you reach the ridge of a mountain and the uphill becomes a downhill hike. We stopped to photograph some eerie storm clouds at the top of the mountain and packed everything up to continue on to Abrams Falls. Within 2 minutes, the sky opened up with rain, thunder and lightning. It became very important to get off the top of the mountain. Many were huddled under large rhododendron, but we decided we were already drenched through and through so we never stopped. The difficulty level of the hike changed drastically as our clothes weight increased by 3 to 4 times normal weight, our feet were slipping in our shoes which were slipping on the mud.
